How to Do It
The steps to potentially seeing yourself as an anime waifu are very simple:
- Follow this link to navigate to the free, browser based program that uses an AI to convert images you take or upload into an anime waifu version
- Take a selfie, or upload one by clicking on the respective button on the page
- Wait a few seconds for it to work
And boom! that’s all it takes, just sit back and let their AI do the work
Why You Might Not Like the Results
So, we’ve given this thing quite a few tries already — with a pretty mixed bag of results.
Basically, you either get an impressive depiction of your picture as a 2D, anime-style waifu OR you get a jumbled monstrosity that will make you question how AI is capable of butchering something so hilariously.
Either way all you have to do is upload a photo real quick and sit back to love or laugh at your new anime self.
Examples
Before you try it, you might as well check out our experience. Here’s a stock photo of a woman plugged in to it that worked pretty well.
As you can see, it worked out pretty seamlessly.
Now, here’s another stock photo of a woman who wasn’t looking perfectly straight at the camera
And here’s the resulting waifu pic…
So…yeah. As you can see, the slightest tilt of the head or things like makeup can easily confuse it and lead to a whole different (but equally fun) experience.
Also, keep in mind that these are just two that seemed appropriate to show, some of the others that it made were WAY crazier
